Winery founded by Ardison Phillips.
Former Principal Owner and Winemaker of McKeon Phillips Winery "An amazing man of many talents," Ardison Phillips was the former owner/chef of the dynamic Studio Grill in Hollywood -- one of the first "restaurants to the stars". He had evolved to be a world-renowned artist and wine educator. He was also a vintner with a cult like following on the Central Coast for his McKeon-Phillips wine.
Ardison had a great love for the grape even as a restaurateur in the 70's and 80's, winning the coveted Wine Spectator "Wine of Excellence" for his restaurants cuisine and creative wine list. Also an accomplished artist, Ardison was one of the first wine makers to package his wines with artist labels. In 1976 Ardison introduced his own line of wines under the Studio Grill Private Selection label. He was credited as being one of the first restaurateurs to have a premium private label wine served in his restaurant.
Demand of his house wine (made by Ardison) led him to produce wines under the McKeon-Phillips label starting in 1982. 
Ardison was a man of many talents: a winemaker, a chef, a wine educator and an artist whose work has been collected by the Getty Museum and art galleries throughout the United States.
Most days you could find Ardison welcoming guests to his wine tasting room and gallery in Santa Maria, California where his kind-hearted personality made him a friend to everyone he met.
We are a Bordeaux focused winery and we are known for our red wines, although we do make two white varietals: Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. We are also known for showing our wines when they are ready, as opposed to showing you a product that is too young.
