Pine Mountain Wine Festival

On June 10th, 2006 the Pine Mountain Club held it's fourth annual Pine Mountain Wine Festival and McKeon-Phillips was proud to participate. We have attended the festival since it began in 2002 and have absolutely loved the experience every year. First of all Pine Mountain is the perfect getaway. Nestled in the pine studded hills of the Los Padres National Forest, Pine Mountain offers a serene retreat with all the comforts of home. It makes a perfect setting for a relaxing, outdoor wine festival. As we set up our booth on the main strip we just knew it was going to be a fun an exciting day. The crowd was eager to taste some great wines which we were happy to provide. The smash hit of the afternoon was definitely the small barrel of 2004 Bailey's Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon that we brought along with us for people to sample. As the festival started we had a line forming to taste the fabulous wine that was being pulled straight out of a small oak cask with a glass "Thief". A thief is a shaped glass tube that allows you to use suction to draw wine out of a barrel. People absolutely loved the idea and were raving about it all day. For many people it was the first time they had ever experienced tasting wine directly out of an oak barrel. Needless to say, people loved the idea and more importantly the wine. It was one of the last events that we were able to offer futures of the 2004 Bailey's Private Reserve Cabernet so those who took attended and took advantage of our specials were thrilled.

The event ran smoothly from start to finish with the aid of the very helpful event staff. We would like to extend a very special thank you to the event coordinator, Kurt. He was extremely helpful and even invited us to his home for a glass of wine and some excellent home cooking. We had an unbelievable experience and we will absolutely be back next year. In fact we can't wait!! Make sure to join us!! In the meantime check out some of the pictures we took of the event and some spectacular scenery on the way there. Enjoy!
